# Dark / Light Mode

|
The moon/sun button in the [My Apps](/guide/main-screen/my-apps) top bar toggles dark mode for the whole builder UI.
|
|
|
|
## How it works
|
|
|
|
- Tap to switch between **dark** and **light**. (The underlying setting has a third `SYSTEM` value, but the top-bar button only flips between the two explicit modes.)
|
|
- The switch plays a circular **theme reveal** animation expanding from the button, then applies the new theme.
|
|
- Your choice is **persisted** and restored on next launch.
|
|
|
|
## Scope
|
|
|
|
This controls the **builder's** appearance only. The apps you generate have their own theme settings (light/dark/follow-system) configured per app under [App Configuration](/guide/config/appearance).
